Carved (2007) aka A Slit-Mouthed Woman
Three decades ago, a Japanese suburb was terrorized by the vengeful spirit of a woman in a surgical mask who asked victims, “Am I pretty?” before slaughtering them. Now, children in this community are disappearing again, leaving police and teachers to discover the reason and put an end to the new wave of carnage
A mutilated woman with giant scissors seeking children…
J-horror line: “Am I pretty?” - hellz no! *dies* A bit on the average side of ghostly tales.
Creepy. It’s always nice to have that fable/myth. It’s the bogey-woman!
The sepia color and cinematography was something different. I liked how they did the effects - simple but effective. The little bit of “action” in the end was dreadful though… acting flaws.
KAKIHARA (Ichi the Killer) is the original Slit-Mouthed man!!!
The idea is there and the delivery was good. It’s not “confusing” or bizarre as with most Japan horrors. This is a slasher film, with some (ghost) fantasy.

The Human Centipede II: Full Sequence (2011)
Inspired by the fictional Dr. Heiter, disturbed loner Martin dreams of creating a 12-person centipede and sets out to realize his sick fantasy.
Tom Six lives up to his promise of an intense sequel!
A film about the film. Obsession… human centipede fans. 100% medically accurate.
Solid performance by Laurence R. Harvey! who plays Martin, a mentally disturbed manchild who lives with his mother and works as a security guard. He religiously watches The Human Centipede (First Sequence) and attempts to replicate the genius of Dr. Heiter. Problem is… He ain’t no surgeon.
My friend Shaun said it best: “I think HC1 had to be made in order for this one to be made, and the end result is a disturbing, brutal, sick, and just really well done if you ask me. i’m reminded of David Lynch’s Eraserhead (1977) at times, and Man Bites Dog (1992) aka C’est arrivé près de chez vous.”
I completely agree with what my co-horror fan said. The 1st was a “short” turned full length film. This is the fruit of that whimsical medical slaughterfest. A real psycho. Taking back the medical accurate claim and twisting the tables.
The 1st was better but this is a totally different film. Equally as good - with a Black & White approach (there was one or two blood splatter scenes with “red”) and a grittier feel to it.
The Human Centipede: First Sequence (2009) was a novelty film (laughable at times). This Sequel is a Slasher/Psycho Horror. Maintaining it’s “that’s impossible” storyline - watch it for what it is.
Nudity, Violence & Gore! This is the type of entertainment you get from those films that push moral and ethical boundaries of modern cinema.
Two movies similar and different at the same time. Confused? Watch it.
